Yelda Türkmen

CEO / Founder

Born in 1984 in Diyarbakir (Turkey), Yelda lives in Berlin.

Since the early 2000s, she has been working for television channels and brands. She learned storytelling from the ground up. Starting out in television in a classical manner, she completed an internship at WDR, worked on prime time and live shows such as DSDS (Germany's version of American Idol) (RTL) and Joko & Klaas (Pro7), and even hosted her own show on RBB. Her cultural background enriches her work with target audiences in an organic manner.

Yelda's passion lies in stories, communities, and pop culture. Since 2020, she has been the founder, CEO, and Creative Director of Kanakfilm Berlin GmbH, with which she has already produced content for platforms including Amazon Music, Netflix, RBB, and ZDF.

Additionally, Yelda is a speaker on topics such as storytelling, diversity, and communities. She works as a director, consultant, and serves as a jury member of the Video Days Festival.

Markus heidmeier

Managing Director

Born 1971 in Dortmund, lives in Berlin and Brandenburg.

Since the early 2000s, he has worked as a journalist and editor for the programs of Deutschlandfunk, Zeit Online and Tagesspiegel, among others. His main topics are the future of the media.

Since 2007 co-founder and co-managing director of KOOPERATIVE BERLIN Medienproduktion GmbH.

Since 2020 co-founder and co-managing director of Kanakfilm Berlin GmbH. Since 2024 founder of supa.stories GmbH, which will succeed KOOPERATIVE's TeamStory content unit in 2024.

supa.stories and Kanakfilm produce documentaries, series, social media and podcasts for funk, ZDF, ARD, Audible, Podimo, Amazon and Netflix, among others.

In addition to his work as a producer, Markus Heidmeier founded the Beyond Platforms Initiative and the New Producers Network in 2019. Between 2016 and 2020, Markus Heidmeier also held a teaching position at the IfF at TU Dresden and also works as a strategy consultant for institutions such as the EVZ Foundation, the Zentrum Liberale Moderne and Deutschlandradio.
